Using the infield: Syntax

The infield: syntax can be used to query Parametric Search fields directly in the main text search box, along with a normal text query. The basic syntax is:

infield:[enc:]FieldOpValue

where Field is a Parametric Search field to be queried, Op is one of the operators defined below, and Value is the value to match for the operator. The Field must be enabled for infield: searching by checking the Searchable box for it under Parametric Search Options (here) on the Search Settings page.

If enc: is given immediately after the infield: tag, then the Value is assumed to be URL-encoded. This enables values with quotes, spaces or other special characters to be represented.

Some variants of the syntax have additional operators and values. Note that there are no spaces, to ensure that all parts are parsed together (and not as part of a surrounding ordinary text search).
