The Catalog module provides a method of uploading and managing data for an e-commerce or catalog site, where the data often consists of numerous small documents (e.g. product or item pages) that are already grouped together in one (or more) external databases or spreadsheets. The Catalog modules allows an entire group of such items to be uploaded from a single file at once, rather than generating and/or walking separate pages for each item. It is typically used in conjunction with Parametric Search, with a field created for each attribute of the item (SKU, price, color, size, etc.).
